Bright on the nose, unique with a velvety softness on the palate, Scialo is a symbolic wine, like the few regional wines in existence.
Bewitching by nature, Scialo is a symbolic wine, like the few regional wines in existence. Complex and enveloping, Scialo has similar gifts to those of long-lasting wines, where the wood of the casks has rounded the wine off, leaving it to express itself to the full. An equal blend of Nero d’Avola and Syrah, Scialo has a rare body and elegance, is bright on the nose, unique with a velvety softness on the palate: the son of the very best of Sicilian wine-making.
Colour: very intense deep red with purple hues
On the nose: Unfolds with enthralling and clean accents of blackcurrents, cherries in alcohol and blackberry jam with nuances of Indian ink, tobacco, juniper, coffee, nutmeg and thyme, refined and concentrated
On the palate: the skillful use of wood has further enriched and made more powerful the magnificent fruit of this grape, giving it a full and decisive taste, very vivacious; of note are the well-outlined tannins, dense, soft and gentle
Characteristics: Belonging to the category of wines of great character, refined and with a well-defined character, Scialo is rounded and complex, full of vitality and enviable energy, marche with a rare drinking pleasure
Eat with: ravioli with ricotta and pork sauce, cavati pasta with black Nebrodi pig, stewed wild boar livers, paprika goulash, leg of lamb with herbs. Divine is the union between hard, matured and spicey cheeses.
